Recently, two electric vessels equipped with EVE energy batteries have successfully set sail, which are the first electric container ship"Yue tong pearl river 001" in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area and the first 120 TEU new energy pure electric container ship "Hua hang xin neng 1"in Hubei Province. Both electric ships have taken an important step in promoting the upgrading of traditional fuel oil ships to new energy and electric ships and the green and intelligent transformation of shipping.
The First Electric Container Ship in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Bay Area
"Yue tong pearl river 001"
"Yue tong pearl river 001" is the first "oil-to-electric" cargo ship in China and the first electric container ship in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Bay Area. The ship has an overall length of 49.99m, a beam of 13.00m, a depth of 4.40m, a speed of 13.2km/h, a maximum deadweight of 1,740 tons, is equipped with two containerized power supplies, each with a capacity of 1,935kWh, and a total capacity of the ship's lithium batteries of 3,870kWh, and has two modes of operation: rechargeable or exchangeable, with a range of about 100 nautical miles, making it a true "zero-emission, zero-electricity" container ship. "It is a clean ship with zero emission, zero pollution and low noise. After the ship is formally put into service, it is predicted that the annual saving of diesel fuel for a single ship will be about 71.28 tons, and the reduction of carbon dioxide emission will be about 220.97 tons. As the first container ship in the Greater Bay Area that utilizes "oil to electricity" technology to realize green navigation, this ship will provide a replicable and promotable model for the energy-saving transformation of the same type of oil-fired container ships.
Hubei's first 120 TEU new energy pure electric container ship
"Hua hang xin neng 1"
"Hua hang xin neng 1", as an inland waterway collection and distribution dual-purpose vessel, is equipped with battery-driven double propulsion motors, with a length of 80 meters class, a maximum design speed of 18 kilometers per hour, and is mainly loaded with 20-foot and 40-foot standard containers, which can be loaded with 120 standard containers, as well as bulk cargoes, such as coal, sand and other bulk cargoes. The ship is equipped with four 1,935kWh box-type power supplies at the stern, with a total battery capacity of 7,740kWh, a one-way voyage of 175km, and a self-sustainability of 5 days, which can effectively replace fuel oil consumption, reduce harmful gas emissions, and help to push forward the standardization of routes, innovate the mode of the container transport industry, and promote green development.
The above two electric vessels are both using batteries integrated with EVE energy's LF280K cells, which have CCS type approval certificate and TÜV Rheinland explosion-proof certification, with a cycle life of more than 8,000 cycles, supporting the life cycle of the marine battery system of more than 10 years; with this high-quality cell product, Li-ion can customize a variety of power and voltage battery solutions to meet the needs of the customers and the actual operating conditions. With these high quality battery cells, EVE energy can customize various battery solutions according to customers' needs and actual operating conditions, meeting customers' green, low-carbon and environmentally-friendly operating requirements.
As one of the early lithium-ion battery manufacturers in China to enter the marine industry, EVE energy's marine power products, from battery cells to battery packs to battery systems, have obtained certificates from many classification societies, such as CCS, DNV, ABS, etc., and the products cover most of the application scenarios, from small cruise ships, freighters, offshore aquaculture platforms to large-scale ocean-going hybrid vessels. As of October 2023, EVE energy has installed 447 vessels, and more than 50% of the electric vessels in China are equipped with EVE energy's battery solutions, with a cumulative shipment size of more than 200MWh. EVE energy's marine battery systems have been well-proven in the market.
In the future, EVE energy will continue to improve the quality of its products, explore high safety, long life and high economic solutions for electric ships, and vigorously promote the application of new electric ship technology to contribute to the green and sustainable development of the shipping industry.
