12MWh Distributed Energy Storage Operation Project by EVE and Midea Group Wuhan Refrigeration Enters Operations

Mar 19,2024

Recently, the Wuhan Midea 12MWh Distributed Energy Storage Operation Project jointed initiated by EVE Energy Storage Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "EVE") in Wuhan and Midea Group Wuhan Refrigeration Equipment Co. Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Midea Group Wuhan Refrigeration") was officially put into operation. This project is EVE's first 10kV medium-voltage grid-connected project in central China and also the largest industrial and commercial user-side energy storage project invested in and constructed by EVE in Wuhan, opening a new prelude to user-side energy storage projects in central China.

The project is located within the factory of Midea Group Wuhan Refrigeration, with an installed capacity of 3.78MW/12MWh. It adopts EVE's lithium iron phosphate battery system and covers a land area of about 480 square meters. The project adopts the cooperation mode of energy performance contracting, which exhibits functional value such as power peak pitching, peak shaving, demand side response, and demanded amount management. While effectively improving the flexibility of power grid operation, it will also play an active role in power security and new energy consumption.

With the increasing proportion of clean energy such as PV and wind power, the pressure on regional power peak pitching is increasingly prominent. The project can effectively adjust the power load, and transfer more than 7 million kWh of electricity in the phases of relatively centralized use and off-peak use every year. In the first year, it can save about RMB 2.6 million in electric charge in the phase of relatively centralized use for the plant area. In combination with power dividend income such as demand-side response, it will demonstrate good economic value.

In addition, EVE continues to practice the concept of green development. After the project is put into operation, it can save some 2,840 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 7,080 tons per year, thus bringing good social and environmental benefits. After completion, the project will become an important energy-saving demonstration project for green factories in Wuhan and provide more valuable exploration experience for regional response to energy structure transformation and exploration of optical storage demonstration factories.

In the future, under the guidance of the "dual carbon" goal and strategy, EVE will continue to innovate more green, low-carbon, efficient, and stable energy storage solutions, create more energy storage demonstration projects, accelerate the construction of a new energy structure, and make outstanding contributions to humans' sustainable development.
